Artist's Description

This piece began as a collaged and painted envelope recycled from a seed catalog. It sat around in a box for years, then I scanned it in and finally did something with it. I added textures, overlays, more collage from a strip of postmarked stamps of a child pointing, plus a photograph of a ferris wheel that I shot at the county fair. Also, this is sort of a tribute to children with autism. I was inspired by the film "Loving Lampposts" and this is the final result and truly a one of a kind, original digital art creation.

It's given me a new appreciation of our country's history and what it took for our pioneers, my ancestors, to forge what we now enjoy and many times undervalue. While it took me most of my life to appreciate these things, reflection...
