Description
Leave it for the Bears - in other words, leave the wild the way you found it because it is their home. We're just guests.
An imprint of a California brown bear, long recognized as the emblem for the Golden State, on a crunchy leaf in a rain puddle in Oklahoma. This was inspired by my birth state of California and the state I now reside in. The leaf makes me think of the wildfires destroying the state, and the rain that they desperately need. It also is a nod to the western way of life - the national parks and appreciation of nature.
I hope you enjoy this piece of art.

I created this image in 2018, and uploaded it at that time with the description. I realized today, Jan. 20, 2025, that the description is as accurate this year as it was then with references to the wildfires. Ignore the politics, the homelessness, and the cost of high living out there, and California is still one of the greatest beautiful states. It truly was a western way of life before the 20th and 21st centuries.
