I went to this auction on my day off and pretty much stayed there the entire day. I know the auctioneer and his family and was just there to have a good time. A few days went by and I couldn't quit thinking about the auction and its history. So I sat down and wrote the story and we used it in the following Sunday's edition, with some of the images I supplied.
