Description
Choosing a title can sometimes be the most difficult part of photography. Weathered at End of Summer? No. Dried Out. No. Too Late for Rain - sure. It was actually raining and extremely overcast, as I scoured the alleys of our city looking for interesting abstract images, Sunday, August 21, 2022.
I spied the back of this abandoned building and it had everything - broken, cracked windows, peeling paint, cracked wood panels over areas of the windows, rusted screws and a tangle of overgrown, forgotten vines and leaves. It's been a long, hot summer here in Oklahoma, with temperatures ranging from top 90s to some days, 110 degrees. And no rain, just a drought for a few months. It looks more like the end of autumn with everything brown and crinkled dry. While the brick doesn't look wet, it was raining pretty hard in between my efforts to create a few new images for my portfolio. I wanted to try some new techniques in editing and I hope you enjoy my latest work which includes carnival rides, mixed media and more.
Thus - Too Late for Rain
