Description
Who hasn't seen a turtle when traveling - home or on road trips?! I would say a turtle has plenty of western spirit, always determined to get across the road no matter the risk.
This one came to visit - he wandered into my workspace one day, so I grabbed my camera and did a quick turtle study/portrait session. He was cooperative and then I let him go on his way - outside. I've added a few images of him to my gallery here.
If you know exactly what type of turtle he is, please post a comment. I did some research for turtles in Oklahoma, but it was not helpful. He didn't look like any of them. In fact, he's one of the prettier turtles I've seen here.

Super fantastic capture! Turtles are lucky and so wise. I have a short poem committed to memory from a favorite book series, but suppose I should spare you here (unless I have commented before!), lol. Love this!!

It looks like it is the "Diamondback Terrapin". It is the official Maryland State turtle, due to its colors of back, gold and red (the color of the Maryland flag). L/F
