Description
I learned how to type on one of these and I think it really pushed my skills to type faster when it came to deadlines years later using a computer and keyboard. This image makes me think of when breaking news had to be typed and then hand delivered throughout an old western community. I found this typewriter in an old junk store.
This would make a great gift for any writer or reporter who has used one of these.

Toni, revisiting this delightful typewriter! They were SOOOO heavy, but guess they had to be because we were slammping the type handle back and forth so much! FLP

I love this image, wonderful photograph. I learned on a typewriter too and I really miss it, there was something really sacred about the privacy it offered too. F/L
Toni Hopper replied:
Nancy, that sure is the truth! Confession time too, because whenever I find a book with any old typewritten pages, it comes home with me, just so I can have the pages. Sometimes I donate the book back, or resell it or use it for collage and journal creating.
